Built on

Wired directly into the systems that decide whether a load is legal.

Compliance is not a document you upload. It is a set of live checks against government registers, and Haultini is built to call them in the workflow — at onboarding, at allocation, and before the driver reaches a border or a charging zone.

Compliance

The regulatory work happens before you see a price.

UK freight is priced by rules — emission zones, operator licences, driver hours, customs. Most platforms leave those to you and quote the easy part. Haultini resolves them inside the quote.

Market first

Clean Air Zones

CAZ charges in the quote, not the invoice

Every route is checked against all 15 UK Clean Air Zones and the vehicle’s Euro emission class before you see a price. Non-compliant surcharges are itemised separately, so the number you accept is the number you pay.

CAZ routing API + DVLA vehicle data

O-licence

Licences verified live, at the moment of allocation

Operator licences are checked against DVLA in real time when a carrier is assigned — not read from a cache, not taken on trust. A lapsed licence pulls the carrier from the pool and re-matches the load automatically.

DVLA VES API · re-checked per allocation

Market first

Tachograph

Driver hours checked, inspection slots pre-booked

Remaining permitted driving hours are validated against the job before dispatch. Where an inspection is required, the slot is booked through DVSA and the reference lands in the driver’s app.

DVSA Earned Recognition API

Customs

Cross-border declarations filed automatically

Loads with a non-UK collection or delivery point trigger the customs workflow. The declaration is filed to HMRC and the Movement Reference Number reaches the driver before they arrive at the border.

HMRC CDS API · MRN to driver app

Scope 3

Emissions logged per load, exportable for SECR

CO₂e is calculated from route mileage, vehicle type and load weight at job start, and recorded against the load, the lane and both accounts. Reports export in a format your SECR or TCFD submission accepts.

SmartPay

Carriers settled the same business day

Proof of delivery generates the invoice and triggers settlement — no carrier invoicing, no 60-day terms, no chasing. The platform fee is 0.75% of load value and is shown on every transaction.

How it works

Posted load to settled invoice, without the admin in between.

Five steps. The compliance, paperwork and payment work that normally sits between them runs on its own.

  1. 1

    Post the load

Collection and delivery postcodes, date window, weight, pallet count, vehicle type. One form, no rate-card lookup.

Shipper portal, web app, or straight from your TMS

  2. 2

Get a priced lane in under 10 seconds

Ninety days of lane history, the live diesel index, current carrier availability on that corridor, and CAZ charges resolve into one number with a confidence score.

AI pricing engine + CAZ routing

  3. 3

    Matched to a verified carrier

Carriers are filtered by licence status, vehicle type, coverage and availability, then scored on lane fit, acceptance rate and on-time history.

ML matching · live DVLA re-verification

  4. 4

Compliance runs while the driver drives

Tachograph validation, customs filing and emissions logging execute in parallel with dispatch. The driver gets the route, live CAZ warnings and any customs reference in-app.

DVSA · HMRC · CO₂ ledger — no manual step

  5. 5

    POD closes everything at once

Proof of delivery marks the job complete, notifies the shipper, generates the invoice, settles the carrier the same day, and mirrors all of it to your TMS.

Stripe Connect · Mandata, Vigo & Microlise sync

Who it’s for

Three roles, three different reasons to be here.

Know the full delivered cost before you commit.

Logistics managers, operations directors and supply chain coordinators moving freight in retail, manufacturing, FMCG, construction, pharma and eCommerce.

Pricing

Shippers never pay. Carriers pay when they get paid.

The marketplace only works if load supply is free to create. Revenue comes from settlement and from enterprise contracts, not from gating the people posting the freight.

FAQ

The questions operations directors actually ask.

Is Haultini live yet?

We are in private beta on UK lanes, onboarding a limited group of shippers and carriers. Early access gets you into that group and gives you input on the roadmap before general availability. We would rather tell you that plainly than imply a scale we have not reached.

How can you price a lane in under 10 seconds?

The pricing engine reads ninety days of accepted and declined rates on that lane and comparable ones, applies the current diesel index to route mileage, checks live carrier availability for that corridor and time slot, then adds any Clean Air Zone charges. You get one recommended price with a confidence score and a market comparison — not a spread of quotes to reconcile yourself.

Which Clean Air Zones do you cover?

All 15 UK Clean Air Zones, including London, Birmingham, Bath, Bristol, Bradford and Portsmouth. The route is checked against every zone it crosses and the vehicle’s Euro emission class determines whether a charge applies. Non-compliant surcharges appear as a separate line in the quote, so you see the full delivered cost before accepting rather than a correction on the invoice.

How do you verify that a carrier is legitimate?

Operator licences are checked against the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service, and re-checked live at the moment a load is allocated rather than read from a cached result at signup. If a licence has lapsed in between, the carrier is suspended from the pool and the load is automatically re-offered to the next-ranked carrier.

What does it cost, and how do you make money?

The shipper portal is free on every plan, with no card required at onboarding or during use. Carriers pay a subscription plus a 0.75% platform fee on load value, deducted at settlement and visible on every transaction. Broker and enterprise accounts are contracted with custom pricing and a 99.9% uptime SLA.

When do carriers actually get paid?

The same business day the proof of delivery is submitted. POD generates the invoice automatically, and settlement runs to the carrier’s registered account through Stripe Connect. There is no carrier invoicing step and no payment terms to negotiate.

Will it work with the TMS we already run?

Native bi-directional integrations with Mandata, Vigo and Microlise are on the enterprise tier, along with a REST API. Load events, PODs and invoices mirror into your TMS in real time, and Haultini lane pricing, carrier performance scores and CO₂ figures appear inside the TMS interface. Historical data import completes within 24 hours of connection.

Do you operate outside the UK?

Nigeria is our second market and is in build now — the platform is the same, but the compliance layer is rebuilt around FRSC vehicle records, Nigeria Customs B’Odogwu and local instant-payment rails. If you move freight in Nigeria, switch to the Nigeria page from the header.

Is our data used to train your pricing models?

Accepted and declined rates feed the pricing model — that is what makes the pricing accurate, and it is how the platform gets better the more it is used. Commercially identifying information is not exposed to other users, and enterprise agreements can scope this further. The full detail is in our privacy policy.
